Bluff's Craps Strategy, Explained — and What the Math Actually Says

What he actually bets
Watch enough Bluff — Bobby Rivas, the self-styled "King of Bubble Craps," posting a session a day at 9AM PST — and a shape emerges. His uploads lean heavily on the bubble machine's bonus bets, and one in particular is the whole channel's calling card: All Tall, All Small, and Make 'Em All — the ATS trio. It's the premise of a recurring format he's built a stack of videos around, titled some variation of "the HARDEST bet in the casino" over and over, right down to hauling a $2,000 bankroll to a machine to chase it. Fans clearly connect the two: the tribute simulator BluffCraps that grew up around him is built with the All-Tall-Small bonus front and center, which is about as clear a signal as you get about what people associate with his play.
The second recurring pattern is place-and-press: getting a number working, then pumping the winnings back onto it roll after roll. He has bankroll-builder and pressing videos — one is literally about pressing a single number up to the machine's max bet — and his high-limit sessions at the El Cortez, whose machines the casino upgraded to take more money per number, are exactly this move at scale. Underneath all of it sits the ordinary craps foundation: the pass line and the odds behind it, plus the occasional "wrong way" don't-side session for a change of pace. Everything above is patterned from what his titles, thumbnails, and the fan community around him consistently show — not from any one roll.
The honest math
Here's the part we never skip, because it's the entire point. Every one of those bets has a fixed, published cost, and it doesn't care how loud the table gets.
Start with the star. The ATS bonus is a long-shot lottery, and its price depends entirely on the pay table bolted to that particular machine. On the generous old boards — All Small and All Tall paying 34:1, Make 'Em All paying 175:1 — the house edge is 7.76% on Small and Tall and 7.46% on All (those exact numbers are what our own engine returns, and they match the Wizard of Odds figures). But most machines today pay worse — 30:1 and 150:1 — and at that table the edge balloons to 18.30% on Small and Tall and 20.61% on Make 'Em All. That's not a rounding difference. It's one of the most expensive bets on the layout, and it's the one the highlight reels are built on.
Place-and-press is friendlier at the base but not free. Placing the 6 or the 8 carries a 1.52% edge — genuinely one of the best non-line bets there is. Pressing doesn't change that percentage; it just puts more money on the table taking the same 1.52% bite, so a hot run and a cold run are the same math with different-sized chips. Wander toward the hardways and you're paying 9.09% to 11.11%; the "any seven" in the center is the worst on the felt at 16.67%.
Now the contrast that makes the whole thing land. The plain pass line is 1.41%, and the free odds you back it with are 0% — the only bet in the building the house takes nothing on. That's the honest yardstick: the bonus props that carry his channel cost roughly five to fifteen times more per dollar than the quiet bet running along the near edge of the same felt.

Why it still makes great TV
None of that is a knock on the content, because entertainment and expected value are different jobs. The reason ATS makes a great video is the exact reason it's a bad bet: variance. A 175:1 payday means the hits are rare and enormous — a nothing stake detonating into a screen-filling number is the best three seconds on casino YouTube, and a busted attempt is over fast enough to try again tomorrow. That swing is the show. Nobody clips a pass-line bet grinding out 1.41%.
But be clear about what you're watching: a highlight reel is survivorship bias with a thumbnail. The god rolls get uploaded; the long, quiet, losing stretches mostly don't. The drawdowns are real, and the math means the edge never flips — no streak, system, or hot machine turns a 20.61% bet into a good one. A great Bluff session is great television, not a strategy endorsement. Enjoy it as the former and you'll never confuse it for the latter.
